Our Story
Retro Rocks Bar & Grill was born from a passion for nostalgia. Originally conceived as a bar by Tom Wood and Elmar Paeva in 2000, it showcased Elmar’s enviable collection of classic music and memorabilia. This concept, a nod to the good old days, is what sets the mood at our Saginaw bar today. In 2009, the torch was passed to Arup Sarkar and Ryan Neil, who have since upheld and expanded upon this unique vision.
Drawing inspiration from global cultures and personal experiences, our menu is a testament to culinary innovation. Every dish is crafted from scratch, with signature offerings like the Rack of Lamb, Wood-fired Crab Legs, Hanger Steak, and the irresistible Skewers.
Step into a world where the upbeat rhythms of yesteryears play against a backdrop of timeless music memorabilia. Our interior exudes an “old town” charm, making for an upscale dining experience in a relaxed, jovial setting.
Our journey hasn’t been without its hurdles. We opened our first restaurant during the great recession and launched our second bar in Bay City in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, with resilience and an unwavering commitment to our vision, we’ve turned challenges into milestones.
